Boss

One of my blog reader suggested to write about the Boss. May be she is angry or she likes the Boss, i'm not sure. I myself is a Boss at a certain level in my organization. Sure my officers will be reading my blog and sure they will comment how they feel. Of course, some won't have the guts to comment fearing i may retaliate. But i'm an open-minded person, i wont penalize anybody. I feel everybody has a right for their opinion although it differs from your opinion. Opinion and criticism are two different things. Opinion is giving your ideas and views. Criticism means whatever you do is wrong and not the right way. Even in criticism there is positive and negative criticism. There are officers who come and tell me that my decision is not right. I'm open, sometimes, i change the decision but more often, I have my own reasons as to why i make certain decision.

Coming back to the topic of boss. There are many types of bosses and some of them are:

Good boss
bad boss
stingy boss
polite boss
bossy boss
charismatic boss
weak boss
intelligent boss
smart boss
good looking boss
ugly boss

Whatever the categories of the boss, a boss should posses a good leadership ability and the aura of being able to be respected by his subordinates. Some bosses don't appreciate whatever his staff do but always keep on demanding for new things. There are bosses who himself doesn't have ideas and leadership character and too dependent on a few who are close to him (cronies) and promoting them. There are smart bosses who can lead and bring change to the organization.

Most often even if the boss is right, the officers won't see why certain things are done in that manner and not according to their wish. the boss of course has his own reasons because he is close to the top management or leadership where he sees from a bird's eye view point and not zooming in from one angle only.

Having said that there are bosses who shouldn't be the boss in the first place. they by promotion or seniority become the boss but are not able to lead. Weak in leadership and lack of ideas and most often following whatever the subordinates wants rather than the best option of the organization and this will lead to the collapse of an organization. That's why leader qualities of a boss is very crucial in the success of an organization.

Always reward those officers who have done good to the organization. Most often bosses forget the contribution of their staff. Bosses should always interact with their staff through functions and family days.

What's your view, especially my officers, if your reading this. don't be afraid, you know me by now. for others, if your the boss or subordinates you too can comment and share your views. thanks.

boss is key to the success of an organization. my observation, most of the time, to be a successful boss, he or she will employ the best talent with the best brain to assist him/her. e.g. PETRONAS, CIMB are just example.

employing best talent is one thing, the boss himself must be good and excellent if not the smart guys won't follow him for long. you need dynamic leaders in the organization like u said CIMB. Frankly, Petronas i have no comment.

Adik lady in pink....bukan kenaikan gaji saja yang penting, yang lebih penting adalah sumbangan adik kepada organisasi...yg adik bertugas
