Knowing me, knowing you - another famous title song by ABBA during my teen years. Again, I'm not going to discuss about this song but more on the Philosophical issue.
You will only know others when you know yourself first. How to understand others when you don't fully understand yourself. Knowing others will help you understand them better and thus makes it easier when you deal with them.
We always take for granted that we are the best and we know everything - that's wrong. In reality, there are many things we don't know. May be we are good in some specific area but that doesn't mean we are superior and know everything. Our friend may know something which we don't know. We may learn new things. Thus, knowing me, knowing you is important.
Note: Have you ever come across - the character which says he/she knows everything

i agree with u sir.. some people who stay long in certain organization will eventually feels that he/she knows everything.. at 1 angle, yes its good cause they could guide the newcomers.. in other angle.. since they knew everything, they tends to think they rights all the time.. or worse if they didn't even want to share the knowledge they have with others..

i totally agree wif "at the end of the day" (cool nick, by the way! very philosophical and hello). it takes a person to know a person. and there is this saying by a japanese proverb on which i found interesting, "if a character of a man is unclear to you, look at his friends".

what you read, who you mixes yourself wif, you associated yourself wif, reflects the real you.
and i guess, life is all about acceptance. and perhaps, only then, you would be able to see things differentlt, in a different perspective, on a different platform.
i speak too much. and i suppose now everybody knows who i am =)

from childhood to adulthood, i mixed with all kinda characters..drug addicts, thief, laborers ( cause i worked as a hardcore laborer myself, with university students when studying, with disco going guys/gals when single and working....now no particular groups. Maybe we can associate a person with his friends but not necessarily a person's character will follow his friends..(my own experience)
true. my friends are 90% gay and I think I don't find myself inclined towards THAT sort of behaviour! lol!!
and most of my husband's friends are school dropouts and "taik judi" but my husband's a top ranking executive at work.
so, again, you can't judge a person through first impressions.. or his friends, for that matter.
